Festivals in Davao

Araw ng Dabaw is a vibrant feast held every March 16, celebrating the oneness of this multicultural city. Festival highlights include “BANDA HUDYAKA”, a musical band parade competition and showdown along the main streets of Davao City. And the much anticipated search for “Mutya ng Dabaw”, the City’s Ambassador of Goodwill. Other events, such as sports competitions, pop music festival and concerts, arts and culture presentations, are also held during the festival.

Kadayawan sa Dabaw

Davao comes alive with the “Kadayawan sa Dabaw” Festival celebrated every 3rd week of August. A weeklong celebration and thanksgiving for the plentiful harvests of fruits and orchids during the season. Witness the city streets packed with the various festivities such as “Indak – indak sa Kadalanan” (street dancing), a variety of tribes perform and parade the streets with their tribal costumes and jewelry. There is also a Floral Float parade, which features floats adorned with fresh flowers and fruits. Other Arts and Cultural Exhibits are also featured.
