The Enhanced Kitchen Safety Protocols of Malagos Garden Resort

The Malagos Garden Resort is a Davao family and nature resort that is ready to give you a healing and sustainable experience with nature very soon. We understand that the sudden changes brought about by the pandemic can be overwhelming. You’ve held on for months now, you need a quick and safe sanity break. With this in mind, the Malagos Garden Resort made sure to up our resort food safety preparations to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Surface Areas. Throughout the resort, especially in the kitchen, Malagos Garden Resort has increased its already-rigorous cleaning protocols. Surfaces are thoroughly treated with hospital-grade disinfectants and cleanings are conducted with increased frequency. A regular cleaning schedule is established for cleaning and sanitation of food equipment, food contact surfaces, and kitchen hallways and areas. Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment is done after each use while work stations have to be done every hour. Deep cleaning of kitchen areas and hallways is done at the end of the closing shift. Doors will be opened and closed by receptionists to minimize shared hand contacts on door handles.

Personal Protective Equipment. Each of Malagos kitchen personnel are provided with appropriate safety equipment. From face masks, apron, face shields, hairnets, all the way to disposable gloves, we make sure to check everyday that everyone follows the proper safety protocols. Training on how to use and dispose of all PPE is mandatory. Every service professional entering the property is provided a mask and a face shield, which they are also required to wear while inside the resort.

Stricter proper hygiene protocols. Each of Malagos staff are reminded to practice good personal hygiene and grooming. The staff practices proper hand washing procedures and an alarm is set every 30 minutes as a reminder for everyone to do so. No unauthorized personnel is allowed in the food preparation areas. We have also strictly implemented a one-way traffic flow in going in and out of assigned stations in order to properly observe social distancing. This way, we can minimize unnecessary contacts that may cause harm to you.

Management of spaces. Only 50% seating capacity is allowed for physical distancing and a 2 meter distance between seats is done. For round tables, only a maximum of 5 seats is allowed. Cordons or floor markers are installed in queuing counters to guide guests. No face to face seating applied in all outlets.

Managed buffets. All buffets are manned by food servers wearing appropriate PPEs. A  buffet queue will be strictly monitored to practice a 2 meter physical distance for each guest. Second servings are allowed on new plates only. There are no self service counters and all outlets are required to maintain a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing areas before and after work hours.

All these Malagos Garden Resort food preparation guidelines are prepared with nothing but your safety in mind. Hopefully, when we reopen our doors again, you can share the holidays with us.
