How Support Local Campaigns Propelled us Onwards
The past few months have taught us so many things. One of the most important is: resiliency alone is not enough to survive. Since the onset of the pandemic, Malagos Garden Resort have diligently innovated our way through this. From a resort which offered you the complete nature experience, coronavirus has changed the tone of the game for us. We had to shift our gears and venture into an online supermarket which offers the Malagos Homegrown products that you all have grown to love.
Perhaps your last memory of us was that of a long time ago, a field trip with your elementary or maybe high school classmates, the fun times you had during the bird show, and the magical experience of being inside a butterfly sanctuary. Or perhaps you remember us through our chocolate museum, one that has let you make chocolates in all shapes and forms. But we are sure, in the web of all these memories, a connection can still be made; the earthy savory taste of the meals you have enjoyed with us. With fondness, we treasure these as much as you do too.
With this in mind, we have focused our energy into giving you access to homegrown products that are the key ingredients to most of the meals we offer. In the midst of all the chaos, Davao resorts took the hardest hit during this pandemic. Because of this, we also had to draw strength to most of you who have supported our cause. Furthermore, these five support local campaigns inspired us to keep pressing forward:
Robinsons Supermarket and their Farm to Table Campaign.
The program taught its participants how to make plant-based delicacies like vegetable kutsinta, squash siomai and home-made chocolates. The donation was collected through Robinsons Supermarket’s “Eat the Rainbow” program that encourages consumers to eat multi-colored fruits and vegetables. This movement inspired us because the Malagos Garden Resort Local farmers in entirety, is the heart of our business. Through supporting our local farmers, we are also empowering more people to make healthier and better choices.
Government’s Pinas Muna Tayo Campaign.
#PinasMunaTayo campaign is focusing on three components, TriPinas to revive the tourism sector by promoting domestic tourism and destinations, ShoPinas to push for buying locally in support to the retail sector, and LasaPinas to reinforce the love for country by experiencing local food and hospitality. The campaign encourages consumers to make conscious choices to help boost the economy post- COVID 19.
This initiative promulgates an act of bayanihan to the Filipinos. An act of many leading to an act as one to support local businesses and to make more people realize that the resources we have can be as better if not as much compared to most of the imported products we buy.
Grab’s NakakaLOKAL Festival.
This is a campaign that brought together homegrown businesses and Grab’s super app services to celebrate the unique flavors and traditions of the Philippines. Through this initiative, Grab was able to recognize technology as a force for good and continue to level the playing field so that SMEs can grow. Through their superapp services like GrabFood, GrabExpress and more, SMEs now have access to millions of users through an online storefront, resulting in efficiency in logistics costs and incremental revenue.
Condura and their Ka-Local Campaign
Known as an all-Filipino manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigerator services, Condura, with their brand “Tatag Pinoy. Tatak Pinoy.” launched Ka-Local, which enjoins Filipinos to support local businesses because after all, “Sino pa ba ang magtutulungan kundi tayo-tayo rin naman.” Our nation’s economic state recovery is in our hands and we can only push forward if we do it together. This has been Malagos’ belief since we budded. From giving you a service you no less than deserve, experiencing nature right at your hometown, we offer nothing but the refined bounty our country’s resources have in store.
SunStar Davao’s Best of Davao Campaign
Started in 2014, Sun Star made sure to feature local businesses in Davao City through their Best of Davao Campaign. With this initiative, local businesses were promoted through their platforms and the ones featured in the campaign sets them apart to most businesses. This gives them an edge and quite the buzz in the public.
Continue believing in Filipinos, continue supporting local businesses. As long as most of you support local farmers and buy local, we will keep on striving. Shop at Malagos Homegrown Produce today and make this your first step to supporting local. It is only through lifting each other up that we rise together. Stay home, stay homegrown.
