Flashback Friday: 5 Things we Miss the Most in MGR

Malagos Chocolate

They say nostalgia is a memory of a memory and it involves a sentimental and wistful affection of the past. In line with the safety measures imposed due to the onset of the pandemic, the Malagos Garden Resort had to close our doors and bid everyone a see you soon. Four months since the series of lockdowns and we know you miss the bird show, the Malagos Chocolate Museum, and the butterfly sanctuary as much as we do. For today, let’s go down to memory lane and enjoy five Malagos Garden Resort best experiences:

Bird feeding- @cheltiu says: Having an “enchanted” moment with Mama.

Nothing beats a quiet day with Mom while enjoying the ticklish feel of birds all over your body! Not to mention the endearing sounds they make and their vibrant colors enough to make your day a little bit better.

Chocolate Process Tour- @filipinafarmer says: As much as I love eating chocolate, I am more in love in learning the sustainable tree to bar process that goes with it. Thank you very much @malagoschocolate for this special tree to bar farm tour. #farmingiscool #farmingissexy #farmingissmart #farmingishumane #malagoschocolate #internationalawardwinning #supportlocalfarmers #chocolate #agreaph.

One of the things we are very much proud of at the Malagos Garden Resort is our passion to share to you a piece of nature every single time you come and visit us. Just like this one. We love to tour everyone and give more knowledge and awareness on how we make the magic happen with our chocolates. After all, it pays to know where your food comes from. Most importantly, we want to share to everyone that the Philippine Cacao industry is very much alive. Although Chocolate making in the country is considered a lost art, it can still be found and used again, so as every other thing you can think of.

Museum Dates- @kianjessica says: More museum dates with you please! ☺️🥰❤️

We always root for romantic dates in the Malagos Chocolate Museum. What better way to celebrate love than in a room full of chocolates and its history, right? It is an absolute delight to see more and more people starting to see the charm in museum dates. It is both an enriching and learning experience. With the one that you like the most and with a museum built like your Willy Wonka dream, it is a sure core memory kind of thing.

Horseback Riding-  @shane.sunflower20 says: To ride on a horse is to fly without wings. 🐎

Don’t you just miss the feel of the wind against your hair, the gentle clicking sounds of the Horse’s shoe while it walks and the excited/anxious feels on the entire ride? With our absolutely endearing Horses we are sure that each ride has been worth it. As one of the leading Davao City Nature Park, we give our best in order to render services you no less deserve.

Chocolate Making with the Kids- @charriesjourney says: had so much fun making our very own chocolate at Malagos Laboratory😊#MalagosChocolate #Malagos #FilipinoMade #Davao #CityTour #Philippines #TheJCsJourneys

One of the core memories of children are more often than not, fun bonding moments with Mom or Dad. It is a little act that means a lot to most children. While we love the whole intricate and delicate process of chocolate making and forming, we also love a child’s creative and inquisitive side. It is both wild and calming, messy and neat but ultimately filled with innocence.

Perhaps for now, this is what the fate of Davao Resorts look like: a memory of a memory. Despite this, we do what we can to get by. While all these make us feel nostalgic, it is important to still carry on. As much as we love sharing experiences refined by nature with you, we prioritize your safety. In case you want a greener room, the Malagos Homegrown Produce now has potted plants to elevate your home’s ambiance. If ever you feel hungry, we also offer meal kits straight from the Malagos Garden Resort menu. Anything you need to bring you closer to experiences refined by nature, we are more than willing to provide. Stay home, stay homegrown.
