Safe Staycations, Always, at Malagos

Right when people have slowly adjusted to the new normal, the height of Covid-19 positive cases compelled the local government to revert back to MECQ. It's sad to hear that your favorite business is at the verge of closing due to a skeletal workforce and lesser customers. A number of Davao tourist destinations might lead to temporary suspension of operations as well. However, with the proper protocols, your quality time with your family can be stopped from being compromised.

The Malagos Garden is one of a few open resorts in Davao at MECQ period ready to serve everyone in safety despite the MECQ limitations. With the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the management of emerging infectious diseases on accommodation establishments, we are allowed to operate in accordance with our Certificate of Authority to operate from the Department of Tourism.

As a Davao Staycation Resort certified to operate by the DOT, here are some of the guidelines we need to follow to ensure everyone’s safety.

Age Limit

“Any person below twenty-one (21) years old, those who are sixty (60) years old and above, those are with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks, and pregnant women shall be required to remain in their residence at all times.”1

Checkpoints

On the way to our resort, depending on what road you will take, checkpoints will be waiting. Make sure you have prepared your QR Code and company ID to show any proof in case they will be asking where you are from and where you are going. This is very much applicable when passing through a checkpoint on Sundays, no movement day. In addition, make sure you have your face shield and face masks worn properly. These things are the same things that are needed upon entering the resort.

Restaurants Maximum Capacity

We have three restaurants. The first is the View Deck located beside the pool. Tables and chairs are available inside the cafe and outside the cafe, around the pool. Next we have the Koi Cafe which is an al fresco dining service. Consisting of mini gazebos around the area, guests may enjoy their dinner in confidence as we maintain safe distance from other guests. These two outlets will remain operable for your al fresco dining convenience, while our Weekend Feasts at the Coral Pavilion remain suspended for everyone’s safety.

Service

To help contain any possible spread of the virus and keep the virus away from us is to stay home and wash our hands. All of our staff members work in-house. That means we stay in the resort at our “work-home”. In line with that, our personnel are in a reduced number than usual to avoid overcrowding in high-traffic areas of the resort as well.

In terms of the other conveniences, room services are temporarily suspended to refrain close contact between our staff and guests. Furthermore, as a precautionary method, any used room is left unattended for 2 days, giving enough time to starve the virus and expire.

Park activities like our playground, museums, bird dome, butterfly dome, birdshows, and the like will not be available for now. We may be well known for these activities as a Davao family resort destination, nonetheless enjoying the staycation in the resort wouldn’t feel any less with a refreshing dip at our pool to compensate.

Slots are very limited and yet our service is still at our best. We would hate to see you arrive here with no room available or no table and chair prepared for you. Make an advance reservation with us. At least time before you are on your way to us. In that way we could serve you better.
