Pinoy Food Pride On Independence Day at Malagos

“I am a proud Filipino” words we say when we see a fellow FIlipino that has made it in on the ranks. Allow ourselves to enjoy the little things that make one a filipino by starting Where to Celebrate Independence Day

Food Pride

All our dishes aim to hit the local favorite taste of Davaoenos. To achieve that our chefs have greatly internalized the sense of taste and culture at Davao. Not a lot of Davao Restaurants would like to master the cuisine of the local taste. It may be just a ‘lutong bahay’ type of dish for the locals, but adding our secret ingredient makes it even more local.

Pork Humba

The Filipino taste buds that crafted the best of our national recipes is the main reason our signature dishes continue to make waves around the world. Like the classic Pork Humba. It might be a very simple dish but it has been a secret of some filipino wives to gain the hearts of their beloved foreign husbands. Here at Malagos we have our (not so) secret infusion as to this dish – the award-winning Malagos Chocolate. Known as one of our favorite comfort cuisines, the Malagos Chocolate Pork Humba is cooked to the balanced level of a soft and juicy type of chicken that would make you doubt whether you really are eating a locally based recipe.

This, among other crowd-top-picks, are available for a la carte dining at the View Deck Cafe.

The pork humba allows you to forget that you have high blood or arthritis. The gelatinous pork makes you feel less guilty of eating something you aren’t allowed to. A slice of pork, from skin to meat, melts in your mouth like butter.

On top of that all, you will notice that the brownish color of the common pork humba or chicken adobo is different. It is a color of chocolate. This is the secret ingredient. It complements the level of sweetness filipino love and saltiness of soy sauce.

Malagos Pizza and Beef Caldereta

The Malagos Pizza is the epitome of the Malagos food. Every ingredient used in the pizza is from the Malagos farm and produce. What’s very remarkable is the malagos cheese. Wherein the cheesy flavor in the pizza could not be eaten unnoticed, that even the cheese is made to fit the local taste as well.

The right balance between Malagos Cheese mix and an oozing thick pomodoro sauce makes for a perfect combination. With every bite, coupled with all the tasty toppings, you just can’t get enough of this cheesy indulgence.

A simple beef caldereta seasoned with all-local ingredients is also available to complete your homegrown dining experience. With the use of our signature goat cheese, a typical beef caldereta for lunch is almost immediately turned into gourmet dining. This one of the ala carte orders you shouldn’t miss out at the Independence Day Resort Promo.

Chocolate Awards and Recognition

Our chocolate is world class, which goes to show: the Filipino taste is world class.

We claimed four Gold awards at the World Drinking Chocolate Competition 2020 in Hannover, Germany. The award-winning entry was Malagos Chocolate’s 100% Premium Unsweetened Chocolate. Needless to say, we were overwhelmed with the unprecedented sweep by a Filipino-made chocolate product.

This makes us so honored to incorporate this single-origin chocolate in every possible recipe there is. One way to enjoy the use of our chocolate in dishes is trying out our special “Choco Freeze” beverage available only at our View Deck Cafe open during the day. You may order our chocolate through our online shop or contact us then start trying to put chocolate on all your dishes.
