No one really knows when or where it started. One moment everyone was still engrossed in the idea of bartering and the next, almost everyone is becoming plant moms and dads. In an effort to be with you through these trying times, the Malagos Garden Resort now offers new plants for sale. With your comfort and safety in mind, we opted to bring to your homes a piece of nature all the way from the gardens of Malagos.
Fiddle Leaf. The common name of this leaf comes from the fact that its leaves are the size and shape of a fiddle. This is a stunning plant with huge green leaves and an even larger form of houseplant. The Fiddle Leaf Fig should be placed in a warm and humid environment with just the right amount of water and plenty of sunlight. Choose a location away from air vents and drafts where the tree will receive plenty of bright ambient light for it to survive.
Golden Pothos. Also known as the Devil’s Ivy, this is the easiest houseplant to grow. This trailing vine has pointed, heart-shaped green leaves with just a speck of yellow and white all over. While Pothos strive in places with good sunlight, it can also survive in areas that don’t get a lot of sunlight. This is the best plant for offices and dorms.
Calamansi Plant. This is by far, one of the most used citrus in the country. It is native to the Philippines and is one of the core elements in most Filipino cuisine. This plant bears small, edible fruits that are rich in Vitamin C and is one of the best choices to start with when growing your own edible garden.
American Lemon. Lemons are more sensitive to cold than other citrus trees. This is why it is best to place it on the south side of your home. Simply give it enough sunlight and a container with good drainage and a room for growth and you are good to go.
Aglaonema. This is commonly known as the Chinese Evergreens. Aglaonemas are usually slow growing, attractive, and make excellent foliage plants. They have large, narrow, and glossy oval leaves on short stems. This is a perfect houseplant for the living room.
Wandering Jew. This is the perfect indoor vining plant if you are busy but wants to have a little bit of green in the house. Wandering Jew requires bright, indirect sunlight. If the light is too dim, more often than not, its beautiful leaf markings will fade.
Syngonium. This variety is an easy care plant as long as you remember to water them. They are low light tolerant houseplants and will literally strive anywhere.
San Francisco. This is a common plant that may be familiar with you since childhood. It comes in many colors, textures, and shapes. It gives more life and color anywhere it is placed.
Palmera. This is the spanish name for palm trees. Small ones like the one available with Malagos may be grown indoors or kept outdoors. It is all up to you.
Moonlight. Philodendron is an easy-care plant that does not require a lot of attention. Provided with regular watering, bright light and room to grow, this philodendron will perform well.
Ferns. These are green flowerless plants with divided leaves that grow in damp, shady areas. Ferns are relatively easy to care for but drafts, dry air and hot temperature will easily kill them so it is best to be mindful and keep their soil moist.
Pandakaki. A plant with small white flowers, this plant is native to the Philippines. It is also known to have many medicinal and relaxing benefits.
Moses. More known as the Moses in the Cradle plant, this produces rosettes of long, waxy, sword shaped leaves that are glossy green with just a hint of purple all over. This is usually best used as a centerpiece.
Eugenia. This is a glossy leaved shrub or tree, which is often used as a hedge or privacy barrier. This is one great looking privacy plant that is fast-growing, dense and hardy.
Bismarckia. It's one of the most elegant, massive and desirable fan palms you can plant. With a stout trunk and symmetrical crown, it makes a great focal point in your backyard.
