Chocolate Museum: Share The Beginnings Of Chocolate From Tree To Bar

Classical museums are full of artifacts, pictures, models, and a lot of papers to read about the story of which even item is worth it to talk about. Chocolate museum at Malagos wishes to offer everyone a new face of what a museum is. Our museum is not only limited to the part of where the building is. Learning more about chocolate is more than what a building could cover. It takes the whole farm of ‘chocolate trees’ at Puentespina Farm to know how chocolate is made. Here are more details about the ‘Chocolate Tree to Chocolate Bar’ experience.

Malagos Chocolate Museum:

The Tree to Bar Experience

Cacao Farm

The first tree to bar tour will be at the cacao farm. The first step of knowing about chocolate is knowing where it came from. Just like almost all of our food, chocolate also comes from an organic source being processed. Chocolate is specifically from the seeds of the Cacao tree’s fruit.

And just as any food, premium sources produce premium results. The cacao farm at the resort is full of premium cacao trees which would be very interesting to see and compare what is so different from a premium cacao tree and regular cacao trees.

In the farm we could see the first few processes that are crucial to produce quality chocolate. From there you may experience picking the cacao fruits yourself. Going into the woods full of cacao trees and how to take care of the trees. If you are in luck during the harvesting season, you may taste the raw fruit of the cacao trees and compare it with different types of cacao trees.

Chocolate Museum

After learning the chocolate making process on the farm, the next step would be bringing it to the factory which is in the museum itself! Along the way to the factory, like every other museum, our tour guide will speak of the history of chocolate on how it was made and discovered and why a cacao farm was the choice of the Peuntespina family.

Learn more details of traditional ways on how chocolate is made and transition to the modern way of how chocolate is made. We have a glass wall that separates the chocolate factory and the museum for guests to see for themselves on how the factory actually works.

Lastly, experience making your own chocolate with different molding shapes we have. If you’re interested in the outcome of this process, then grab a chocolate at Malagos Garden Resort And Chocolate Museum now. The chocolate would be great for chocolate bouquets and an overnight stay would make a perfect romantic gift for your couple.
